I received this colorful beaded basket as a wedding gift. How was it made? And do you have any idea when?

What it is: BEAD-AND-PIN BASKET

Little Bo Peep-style decorative baskets, candleholders, jewelry, and Christmas decorations made of beads and safety pins became extremely popular in the United States during the 1950s, when there was a resurgence of the crafts movement. Woodworking and other handicrafts were taught in public schools, practiced at home by housewives, and encouraged by youth organizations. Safety pins were inexpensive, and colorful glass or plastic beads were widely available at variety and craft stores. Their combination led to ingenious and colorful creations. As these charming pieces have emerged from basements and attics, interest in them has grown. Prices have risen from under $10 to as much as $250 for oversize productions in multiple colors. Your basket — designed to slip over a vase of flowers — is appealing, but only an average example of the craft.
